Croup
Take your child to hospital urgently if:
Sucking in of the breast bone occurs on breathing and the child is having to work harder when breathing
If the stridor develops when the child is at rest
If the child looks sick or become restless and distressed
If the child is seen by a doctor and is diagnosed with moderately severe Croup, he/she may recommend treating the child with Cortisone which will often prevent the child from being admitted to hospital and therefore can be nursed at home.
